My educational background includes receiving a Bachelor of Art in Anthropology from Arizona State University and a Master’s in Social Work from Arizona State University. I also have specialized training in trauma, ADHD, ACT and play therapy. I have worked with children and adults for 9 years. Common issues addressed with clients have included depression, grief, trauma, substance abuse, anger management and anxiety. In this time, I have utilized trauma-informed CBT, play therapy and mindfulness techniques. I work to build rapport with my clients by utilizing common areas of interest and growth for both client and counselor. I feel I have a strength of connecting and working with clients using creative methods such as art, yoga and physical activity. I enjoy hiking with family and friends and volunteering with my son’s Boy Scout Troop. I became a counselor in order to help those who are going through a challenge to realize a purposeful life and conquer their challenges. I specifically enjoy working with the Gila River community because of the community’s giving and resilient nature.
