Wellness Weekends
Providing Respite and Day Treatment
Our weekends are designed around the concept of building relationship with the client and family which benefit the treatment process. Our program allows for the time to develop the therapeutic rapport necessary to provide strengths-based care for the children and the rest & relief for caregivers. In doing so, we are reducing the stressors in the home and targeting specific interventions and skills, including:
| • Socialization | • Structure |
| • Anger management | • Physical Activity |
| • Self-care | • Coping skills |
| • Positive reinforcement | • Leadership |
| • Behavior modification | |
Additional services are available during school holidays, summer breaks, and for crisis/emergency situations.
Clients may also request day-only services (no overnight).
Children attending Red Mountain's Weekend Wellness Program are learning skills to better their lives, engage and enhance personal relationships, and help them develop as a member of a family environment by:
1. Providing a break (respite) for the parent and the child over the course of a weekend.
2. Engaging the child in day treatment activities, including but not limited to living skills, and counseling.
3. Children will live and learn in one of our safe and fun learning homes for the session, the program provides all the basic necessities for the child and is designed to be cost-netural for the parent.
4. The blending of a structured environment and a stimulating program of community-based, fun activities designed to promote wellness one weekend at a time.
