Providing Respite and Day Treatment
Children attending Red Mountain's Weekend Wellness Program are learning skills to better their lives, engage and enhance personal relationships, and help them develop as a member of a family environment by:
1. Providing a break (respite) for the parent and the child over the course of a weekend.
2. Engaging the child in day treatment activites, including but not limited to living skills, and counseling.
3. Childern will live and learn in one of our safe and fun learning homes for the session, the program provides all the basic necessities for the child and is designed to be cost-netural for the parent.
4. The blending of a structured environment and a stimulating program of community-based, fun activities designed to promote wellness one weekend at a time.
48 Hours of Engagement
Our weekends are designed around the concept of 48 hours of engagement which benefit both the client and the caregivers. Our program's 48 hours of engagement allows the time to develop the theraputic rapport necessary to provide strengths-based care for the children and the rest & relief for caregivers. In doing so, we are reducing the stressors in the home and targeting specific interventions and skills, including:
| • Socialization | • Structure |
| • Anger management | • Physical Activity |
| • Self-care | • Coping skills |
| • Positive reinforcement | • Leadership |
| • Behavior modification | |
